West Hartford
Ragged Mountain
West Hartford is located in central Connecticut 100 miles southwest of Boston and 100 miles northeast of New York City. The "Main Cliff," at Southington's Ragged Mountain, is one of the most popular sites for rock climbing in the state; and the cliff offers climbs for all ability levels. Some climbers consider the faces here to be the best and varied in the entire country. Try your hand at crack climbing or learn fancy foot work as you scramble up the technical traprock faces.

Traprock....Ragged Mountain, Pinnacle Rock, Cathole Pass, Rattlesnake Mountain, Sleeping Giant; some of our favorite places to climb in central Connecticut
St. John's Ledges...Whitehorse like friction slab climbing, but on a Connecticut size scale with 200 foot pitches, some of the best views from any cliff in the state..near Kent in Western Connecticut
Whitestone Cliff...near Waterbury, Connecticut. Nice easier and moderate cracks and faces, in the sun, with a great view!
Chatfield Hollow State Park...near Killingworth, Connecticut. Home to some interesting gneiss, and a great place for summer day with your family

From the New Haven Area
Take Rte 91 north to Rte 84 west. Rte 84 west to exit 40 (CorbinÕs Corner). Bear left off the ramp, pass beneath the highway, and straight through the light into CorbinÕs Corner Plaza (NOT the West Farms Mall, which is across the street). Look for the EMS store, and meet your guides out front.)
From the Springfield Area
Take Rte 91 South to Rte 84 west. Rte 84 west to exit 40 (CorbinÕs Corner). Bear left off the ramp, pass beneath the highway, and straight through the light into CorbinÕs Corner Plaza (NOT the West Farms Mall, which is across the street). Look for the EMS store, and meet your guides out front.)
From the Providence Area
